The DMC-FZ200 is equipped with the world’s first* 25-600mm (35mm camera equiv.) LEICA DC lens featuring full range F2.8 aperture. The full range F2.8 aperture enables capturing a moving subject in a distance clearly with fast shutter speed. The powerful 24x optical zoom can be used in photo and video recording. Thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology, the 48x Intelligent Zoom is also available. The 12.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor and the Venus Engine elevate the response, sensitivity and image quality of the DMC-FZ200 even to the higher level. The High Sensitivity MOS sensor boasts excellent S/N ratio resulting in super clear image with less noise even in high sensitivity recording. Intelligent Noise Reduction system and Multi-process Noise Reduction system are also available to reduce noise and render dramatically clear images even in low-lit situation.
The 12.1-megapixel MOS sensor enables 12 fps high speed burst shooting in full resolution with mechanical shutter. It also contributes to the Light Speed AF. Together with the quick start-up time of approx. 0.95 sec, the DMC-FZ200 provides fast, accurate framing and never misses the most fleeting shooting opportunities.
The DMC-FZ200 integrates newly developed 0.2-inch EVF (Electronic Viewfinder) that features 1,312,000-dot equivalent high resolution, 100% field of view. Thanks to the increased frame rate from 30fps to max. 60fps, screen freeze is also minimized making it suitable for shooting fast-moving subject under strong sunlight.
The DMC-FZ200 records full HD 1,920 x 1,080 videos in astonishing smooth 60p (NTSC) / 50p (PAL) in AVCHD Progressive format. It can also record full HD videos in MP4 format. The POWER O.I.S. with Active Mode comes in handy when shooting while walking or playing with children. The DMC-FZ200 can record high-speed videos at 120 fps (NTSC) / 100 fps (PAL) in HD (1,280 x 720) or 240 fps (NTSC) / 200 fps (PAL) in VGA (640 x 480) in MP4 format. You can capture scenes that can't be seen with the naked eye, and play them back in dramatic slow motion.
